School Curriculum

Primary and Kindergarten Curriculum Summary

Our school offers students a unique classroom structure. With one Korean and one English homeroom teacher, the students are given an immersive English experience while maintaining the Korean curriculum. Having two homeroom teachers also provides students with two teachers who are invested in and dedicated to their learning. With a teaching staff comprising 47% Korean, 41% English, and 12% Mandarin teachers, we maintain a favorable teacher-to-student ratio of 1 to 5 ensuring personalized support for every student.

Our curriculum cultivates a global perspective by merging the Korean National Curriculum with a bespoke English curriculum made up of Oxford English, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the Singaporean based math curriculum My Pals Are Here as well as Mandarin studies. The Korean curriculum is organised thematically, with content that encourages real life application. Physical education enhances the curriculum, incorporating swimming and various new sports. English and Mandarin classes are offered in levels, so students are met at their own ability and given the opportunity to grow in an appropriate setting. The IPC is a thematic, inquiry-based curriculum; it is made up of cross-curricular units that include subjects such as science, art, geography, history, ICT, and history to approach a themed topic. Additionally, students can pursue their interests through extracurricular activities like orchestra, Samulnori, book clubs, tennis, taekwondo, arts and crafts, debate, and more.

Throughout the academic year, teachers organize various school-wide events, including Art Week, Science Fair, Book Week, Cultural Week, the Christmas concert, and the Christmas Fun Fair. These activities ensure a balanced blend of academic learning and enriching educational experiences.
